Results from Reviving an Old Email List

These are the results I got after sending out a re-engagement campaign that would take old subscribers I hadn’t sent emails to in a long time to and ask them to sign up for my new list. One thing that I found very important in this campaign was my reminder of subscribers when they initially signed up. I also gave subscribers the option of not responding to the email which would remove them from the list altogether or taking action and re-subscribing through a double-opt in process. I feel that if you’re looking to not be distinguished as spammer a double opt-in process is vital.

Here are my results:

* Sent out: to 74 recipients on May 10, 2007
* 30 opened – 22 unique opens (total of 38.6% open rate)
* Of those that opened it 68% (15) clicked through and re-subscribed to the new list.
* No one unsubscribed.
* 1 or 1.75% spam complaints
* 22.97% bounced (17)
* So a total of 77.03% (57) were actually delivered.

Yes my list is small but I’m a firm believer that to be successful with abundance you must first learn how to be successful with a few.
