The Re-launch of Urban Beauty Online

I am so happy that I am finally done with the re-design of my site urbanbeautyonline.com it has been a long process but well worth my final result. Initially I was using Dreamweaver and the book Web Redesign 2.0: Workflow that Works. Soon I realized that the site and the amount of content I planned to create would make the site very hard to manage, so I ditched Dreamweaver. But I still used the information I aquired from the book to plan the mission, architecture and vision for the site.

I decided that a CMS system would be the best answer and started to research Typepad, Joomla, Drupal and Wordpress and after much consideration settled upon Wordpress. Luckily I host my account with Godaddy which offers Wordpress and other open source software with simple 1 click installation.

Wordpress has a pretty steep learning curve and does take some getting used to so I bought Wordpress for Dummies to help me through. I find it a great resource because you don't have to read it cover to cover just pick problem and find the solution.

Another great resource I discovered was solostream.com. I found my theme for my Wordpress website there and I love it so thanks Michael Pollock (that's the CEO of Solostream).

The Black Ink Project | Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Affiliate Marketing

I have always had an interest in affiliate marketing (all the way back to 2001) but soon discovered it is way more tricky than placing links on a web page. Discouraged with less than stellar results I quickly started looking for a new way to start to generate passive income using the Internet.

And then last month I got a message from a website that I casually visited that showed you how to make six figures using affiliate marketing programs. Jeremy Palmer, a true affiliate marketing guru was willing to take time out of his busy schedule to teach a few willing souls how to crack and succeed in the affiliate marketing industry.

I was extremely intrigued and it was FREE so I signed up for what Jeremy calls the Black Ink Project. The Black Ink Project includes 4 weeks of intense training using live WEBEX tutorials on subjects that will get you and your affiliate business of the ground and soaring.

I have completed week one and today starts the first day of week 2. So I'll be blogging about what I am learning periodically especially as we go deeper.

Do you love to Twitter? I just started and it's a little weird getting used to it because you are only allowed 140 character to post your updates but it's a nice way to keep you succinct.
